While the employment rates have been dropping, it has been found that the Female unemployment rate is rising. Women who have been out of paid work for a while, are finding it difficult to get hired by potential employers, especially those 50 years and older. According to National Statistics, 1.1 million women in the are unemployed. Over the first quarter of 2012, the percent of unemployed women has gone up 9%.
