Last night I was doing some research and stumbled across this pigtail pals blog post. Somehow we seem to forget how awesome we once were. We get influenced day in and out. The news, the Internet, politics – you name it, it is all about how bad it really is for most and how perfect others have it.
Unfortunately this is something I see when new clients sign up and we have our first chat. They often feel there is little hope, no opportunities, no decent pay and so on because this is what we hear in the news on a daily basis. This results in a massive lack of confidence and a pessimistic approach to job hunting.
If you haven’t done so before, read the pigtail pals post and then answer the following questions:
- What are you awesome at?
- Which cool places do you want to work at?
- How much do you want it?
Now go and get it. The media is conditioning you to feel insignificant but in reality you are awesome, you just forgot about it and it may hinder your career!
