The 2012 Job Market

While computing and healthcare industries seem to have a higher demand for new workers, virtually all types of jobs with a higher need for specialized workers require a higher degree as well.  The average income for students sits below 20,000 a year – which is expected to top out at around 50,000 with 10 or more years of experience.  Those who want to become economists typically require a PhD, with the average income around $100,000 a year.  Bachelor Degree and Masters Degree holders top out at $45,000 and $75,000 a year.

The large majority of economists find themselves working in the same field of specialization in which they studied for.
