A day at the job these days is more stressful than ever. Workers are underpaid, and subject to more work while the threat of losing their job looms over their head. Because of these factors, 75 percent of workers reported to have felt more stressed out at their job, compared to a generation ago. These high levels of stress also lead to physical reactions and changes in behaviour at the work place.
A lack of control over their work life and a work overload are some of the causes that lead to illnesses that some workers suffer from. They may lose their sense of humor and become irritable, and thus find themselves unable to work more often. Remedies are limited, but include considering another choice of career and planning vacation times.
