Start-up Jobs [Infographic]

by Nik Lemmens on April 22, 2012

There are many different types of jobs out there, but as of 2011 startup company jobs have increased by almost 25%! There are even executive level jobs advertised in those listings. So where can you look to find these types of jobs? It seems that most of these jobs are located in California but New York, Massachusetts, Washington, and Texas also have quite a few openings.

I never knew that there are so many startup jobs posted in 2011, and a large percentage of them is in the marketing, admin, and engineering area. I recall, how come there are still so many who were jobless back then?

Hi Sylvia,

I think the problem is that when you dig into the numbers that location is a big factor. I can imagine the unemployment rate in CA will be lower than some of the other states. You also need to consider the availability of skills versus the demand.

Hi Nik,
You’re absolutely right. What you said also applies to other countries – even if there is a high number of job vacancies in an area, the people who live there or are interested to work may not have the right talents/skills for the vacant jobs currently available there.
