The past 20 years has given rise to incredible changes in the way companies hire new employees. In the late 1990’s we began to see the emergence of simple resume databases, which help recruiters organize what would be normally be a paper pile. From there automation and configurable workflows spawned the rise of “career sites”. The 2000s gave rise to the use of analytics and marketing techniques – which mainly recruiters have benefited from. Currently, a decent portion of companies use social strategies and collaborative recruiting techniques.
