Another large food producer in the United Kingdom has made the decision to cut some of their divisions in order to slow the amount of debt being incurred by the company. Premier, which owns a number of food product brands will close down two bakery sites and end some of their well-known product brands. Roughly 900 jobs are at stake at two bakeries in London and Greenford, and the company will also be downsizing its distribution line – effectively putting an end to 130 routes.
Naturally, workers are devastated due to the downsizing and many workers will lose their contracts. Premier says that simplifying their base cost is necessary in order to keep the company secure.
