Minister: Long-term unemployment rise ‘a myth’

The former employment Chris Grayling has had to explain why the long-term unemployment fears are simply a myth in the UK.  Statistics have show that unemployment is falling, yet the number of people who have been out of work for over a year is steady on the rise.  There are external factors that have contributed to this statistic, including work programs like the Job Seeker’s Allowance which encourages long term job seekers to continue their effort in securing a paid position.  There are also discrepancies between those who list themselves as employed or unemployed, while attending job training courses.
