This infographic from mindflash shows how the job search has involved over time. The infographic speaks for itself but one thing I want to point out. Selection has become more fierce and if you are not specialised for the role you apply for chances are you will not be considered. Just think about it, if you match the requirements for 70% are there going to be 5 people that have a better match? If so you are probably wasting your time filling out an application.
