Job centre has 2,000 vacancies despite high unemployment

The Hull Job centre, which is one of the largest job advisors in the UK (15.8% of the population is hull employed), has been found to have over two thousand job vacancies even though the unemployment rate is still high.

Executives and managers blame the lack of vacancies filled due to a high amount of young applicants who are unprepared for the jobs they interview for.  About 5,000 Hull employees ages 18 to 24 are currently seeking jobseeker’s allowance.  Manager Griffiths has openly stated his disappointment over the situation, and hopes that younger workers can be trained and better prepared for job interviews in the future.
