LinkedIn has been noticing some trends in the workplace – other than the lack of jobs available in the workforce. As technology innovates, it also makes once used items in the office obsolete. 7000 members took a survey to discover their thoughts about what would disappear from the workplace in the next 5 years.
Tape recorders and fax machines are being relics of the past, as digital recording devices and scanners with have upped the ante. Also, rolodexes and surprisingly, the desk phone may also go out of style, since there are better ways to communicate and organize. The standard 9-5 work hours are no longer the norm, and I’m sure telecommuting has a big role in that idea.
