Most students and young professionals understand that the road to a career in Engineering is far from easy. Luckily, it is still a viable path to choose and careers in the engineering field look promising for the future. Statistically, the field of mining engineering has grown 2.5%, and jobs in most engineering departments range from $45,000 to $92,000 a year. Older engineers who have been in the business their whole lives will soon retire, creating a demand for a new influx if talented young engineers. Women in the engineering field are also growing in numbers, even though they represent only 20% of the current engineering workforce.
