People are spending more time working at desks, and it’s becoming more common for people to experience problems with: backs, necks, often getting RSI (repetitive strain injury). It is also getting a lot harder to find time to visit the gym and maintain a healthy lifestyle, so conditions such as heart disease are also on the rise.
With 20% of companies in the USA now offering an on-site fitness centre, we are also seeing an increase in the number of UK companies that offer reduced gym membership within a job contract, making it easier for staff to keep fit and de-stress during working hours.
You’ll also see from the infographic that there are a number of exercises you can do whilst sat at your desk; such as, thigh stretches, chair dips and leg squats. In addition to these exercises it’s also important to be aware of the benefits of ergonomic office furniture, so be sure to make enquiries at work should you start to feel any pain or discomfort.
