The article underlines the limitation in UCAS applications to cater the students who have interests in more than one unrelated or varying subjects and explores the impact of a proposed change to UCAS applications this September – to include an optional section on the personal statement specific to each area of interest and also a means to have additional personal statements in the applications. It also explains the need for students to seek career counselling from professional advisers and speak to current students before deciding on their courses.
