Direct Line to cut nearly 900 jobs

The Direct Line Insurance Group, part of the Royal Bank of Scotland, announced that it will be making a round of job cuts in order to save 100 million pounds by 2014.  Main job losses are expected to come from customer service sites in Stockton-on-Tees.  The company explained that job losses were due to necessary savings returns that were expected from shareholders.
