If you are at the point where going into work each morning is a struggle and you keep thinking ‘I hate my job’ then you must start thinking about what you are going to do about it because you are the only person that can make a difference. The perfect job isn’t going to just walk up and jump at you, nor is your current boss going to give you a raise, take the pressure off or shift your responsibilities around, unless you ask.
If you are in the position where you hate your job, it can be an extremely tough time for you, not only whilst you’re at work but also when you’re at home but try not to be concerned that you are the only one to feel this way, as it turns out that 53% of employees are unsatisfied with their current job. This figure is even higher amongst those aged 18-24, with 76% feeling unsatisfied. Yet despite a huge number of people disliking their current job, only a small number start looking for new work, as seen in the statistics detailed in the ‘I hate my job’ article.
You may feel that your family and friends don’t understand what it is you’re going through so you may take your frustration out on them, which can cause you even more unhappiness. It is, however, important to remember that, no matter how much you hate your job, you must never publicise this online. Not only might your current employers see your rants and punish or even fire you but potential employers may also see these and be put off hiring you.
Keep in mind that you do not have to keep the job that you hate. There are always steps that you can take if you are not happy and these are important to be aware of because we spend so much of our time at work that it is just not worth wasting that time being unhappy.
