The Importance of Professionalism in the Workplace

It is crucial that when you are in the process of looking for a new job, that when you secure interviews you act in a professional manner; this point may sound obvious but recent studies, (as seen in the results in the infographic), have shown that many candidates fail miserably to put across an air of professionalism in an interview and shockingly even more so once they actually get a new job.
Three of the top professionalism fails seen in interviews include:

Dressing inappropriately – 40%;
Arriving late – 29%;
Lack of preparation – 26%

In the workplace managers constantly see examples of a lack of professionalism amongst employees and this is dangerous for people as it can lead to disciplinaries being given, or worse total dismissals.
