Allied Irish Banks to cut 2,500 jobs

A bank rescued by Irish taxpayers and the international bailout will announce 2,500 job cuts on Thursday. Allied Irish Banks announcement will come a day after data showed growth in some areas at the end of last year. The union that represents the bank staff is seeking meetings with senior management of the bank and the department of finance of Ireland.
