330 jobs axed at failed retailer Comet

Comet, one of the UK’s largest retailers has found itself taking the similar road to redundancy as other UK business.  Support centers in Rickmansworth, Hull, and Clevedon are currently being shut down in order to minimize the company’s losses as a whole.  As of now, approximately 330 staff members will be cut from payroll and made redundant.  The Comet staff has commented that their retail stores will remain open for business as usual, but the company is currently looking into outside sources that might be willing to help preserve parts of the business.  The sudden pull back of US backers also contributed to Comet being forced into administration.
